Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX DG APO OS HSM – Short Review

I’ve been shooting with the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS a lot. Always rented it for years for many events and absolutely love it! I think almost every veteran Canon user already knows that the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS is one of the damn best lenses in Canon’s lineup.

But in the end I decided to buy this Sigma 70-200mm after reading so many reviews. I’m blown away by the IQ that comes very close to the Canon 70-200 f/2.8L IS.

I love the black color body instead of white on Canon, and the weight is lighter (Sigma weight at 1430g, and Canon is 1570g). Good built quality, but no weather sealing.
Yes, the Canon is slightly sharper but not enough for me to pay an extra $1000. The Canon’s price was too high to justify purchase. This is great bang for my buck!
