Under a sky full of stars and against the backdrop of our city skyline, American pop-rock band OneRepublic kicked off Day 1 of the Singapore Grand Prix at the Padang, September 15, 2017.
Major throwback songs like ‘Stop and Stare’ and ‘All The Right Moves’ got every single one of the 50,000 fans bouncing and screaming along to every word. The atmosphere was absolutely electric and ran chills down our spines.
The five-piece band also played songs from their latest album Oh My My, such as ‘Let’s Hurt Tonight’, ‘Kids’, ‘Better’ and ‘Wherever I Go’. Even those who didn’t know the lyrics still attempted to sing along.
OneRepublic continued to surprise us, even tossing a free beer to one lucky fan in the audience who flew in from Vancouver, Canada.
If you’re wondering why, lead vocalist Ryan Tedder told the audience at a show in Vancouver last month that he would buy a beer for anyone who showed up at the Singapore show.
And so he did. Talk about an unforgettable night!
