Cirque du Soleil in a stunning new light Inspired by James Cameron’s Avatar, transports the audience to the world of Pandora in a visually stunning live setting. Uses multimedia and spectacular visual effects with puppetry and exquisite stage and costume design to create an immersive experience unlike anything fans have experienced in previous shows.

By utilising an intelligent fusion of cutting-edge visuals, puppetry and stagecraft buoyed by a soaring cinematic score, Cirque du Soleil applies its unique signature style to James Cameron’s imaginary Pandora and connects the two kindred artistic visions to capture the imagination of all its audiences.

Everything about the stage design is uber-lush. When the production manager Ken Mills told The National last week that it took four jumbo cargo planes to fly over all the production elements making up Toruk, that’s no idle boast.

Everything about the show is made in painstaking detail; dance platforms double up as gardens and chutes open to unveil multi-coloured flowers. A make-shift mountain stands heroically in the back with cutting-edge projection responsible for the life-like water that flows from within.

Narrated by a “Na’vi Storyteller”, the storyline is pretty straight forward –TORUK The First Flight is a mythical tale that is set before the events of the film AVATAR and before any humans ever set foot on the imaginary world of Pandora. Three characters travel around Pandora to find five objects that will help prevent a catastrophe to the tree of souls, with the aid of the flying creature “Toruk”. The main characters speak in the Na’vi language, while another wanders through the audience, periodically narrating in English.

TORUK – The First Flight will be presented at Singapore Indoor Stadium from 24 May to 3 Jun 2018.
